The Story Behind Our Logo

When we set up The Holly House Charitable Foundation, we wanted our brand to reflect who we are and what matters most to us. For me, that meant involving the children in my own family from the very beginning.

Meet the Artists

The handwriting you see in our logo was created by my step-daughter, Ava, while the illustrations were drawn by my niece, Bronte. They may be young, but they played a big role in shaping our brand identity. Their work started more than 12 months ago, and they have waited patiently to see their ideas brought to life with the wonderful design skills of Charlotte Clayton.

A Family Affair

The Holly House Charitable Foundation has always been a family effort, so it felt right to involve the children too. We even set up a Junior Board so they could have their say in the charities we support. Their perspective is always honest, sometimes amusing, and it reminds us to keep our focus on what matters most.

The Inspiration

One of Bronte’s illustrations is particularly meaningful. It shows her version of “Mr Harvey” my stepson, who was born with left-side hemiplegia following a stroke at birth. Harvey’s left side is smaller and weaker than his right, and his left arm has extremely limited functionality. Bronte’s drawing may not get the scale exactly right (especially the feet), but it captures the way she sees him: with love and admiration.

Harvey has been an inspiration from the very beginning. Doctors once said he would never walk or talk. Today he is in his third year at university and proudly represented England in the first ever Physical Disability Rugby League World Cup, which the team went on to win. His resilience and determination have shaped our mission that all children and young people deserve the same life chances, no matter their circumstances.

More Than a Logo

For me, this logo is a daily reminder of why we do what we do. It symbolises creativity, family, resilience and hope. It represents the young people who inspire us and the belief that with the right support, every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
